Just want to share...

Hey all! Here is a quick post just sharing a few cards that I have been working on. I am trying to get better about keeping up my blog and galleries, and with this baby coming in 6weeks I want to make sure to post as much as I can, while I can :) I mean I guess I can post during those 3am feedings but I doubt thats going to happen lol. Well here are a few cards....

This Thank You card was created using my Texture Boutique, and Core'dinations paper. The background of the card is made with my favorite Linen paper.

I sanded the paper to get to the underlying core with my sanding block, and punched an eyelet through it. The stitching was done using an offset and changing the offset line to be perforated and 'cut' with the Silhouette sketch pens. I really like this one again, Core just takes my cards to another level :)

Here is a card that I created using files from the Silhouette Library.

The tulip was a sketch design called Tulip Sketch, and the Delightful border is a Dear Lizzy print and cut design, edited to be sketchable.I colored the tulip in with chalk and it also has some clear embossing on the outline of it which gives it some definition when seen in person. The paper is all paper that I had in my stash, and my stash is unfortunately not labeled, its color coordinated. I see a lot of designers are able to say they used such and such a color and soon I will get there... hopefully lol. Those are just a few of the cards I got finished this past week and can't wait to get more going for you!! Hope you enjoyed and as always have a blessed day!! - Always, Jameka

Core'dinations Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone! Today I am bringing you a card I made for a Core'dinations Sketch Challenge. I love Core and the possibilities of what you can do with it are endless. Here is the card I created...

I am calling it Flutterby

I love love love butterflies, especially on cards and in scrapbooking. I also just recently got a Sizzix Texture Boutique (THANKS HUBBY) and fell in love with it. I used the texture boutique to get the dots on the card and on the butterflies, and I used Linen paper for the card. I love the texture that the linen paper gives my cards, so thats what I usually use. The Core'dintions paper is from the Tim Holtz Ranger collection (I believe). Ill double check and update that if needed. I embossed the scroll pattern and used my Core sanding block to get the look and feel of the card the way I wanted. The sentiment was made by me in my Cameo and written with my sketch pens. I colored the butterflies in with the sketch pens as well. I love that I was able to find colors that matched the card perfectly. Here is a close-up of the technique and the butterflies.

I absolutely loved loved loved working on this card and the sketch was amazing!! I will definitely use it again in more cards and look forward to a lot more uses of Core in my work. I hope you enjoyed the card and hope you all have a blessed day!! Always - Jameka :)

Snowman Challenge - Stuck On You Sketches

So excited to be posting this new card! I have been working and reading and learning new techniques and am glad to be here sharing them with you all. This card that I am featuring today is a card that I made for a Die cut challenge for Stuck On You Sketches. This months Die-Cut Challenge was Snowmen. And I thought it only completely fitting since I live in Indiana and we have been freezing and surrounded by snow. The snow is coming down like crazy even now as I write this. I am from California and not made for this weather. However, I am going to take the cold days and craft away. Ok lets get to this card...

I found the file in my Silhouette library and just fell in love with it. I wanted to choose something that could be cut/drawn with my sketch pens. It took some work getting the stitching on the sides to not overlap the snowflake background, and I think I will post a tutorial on how to do it once I perfect it :) All of the patterns are from my Silhouette Studio Library and the coloring was all done with chalk. You can see it a little in the above picture, but the below shows you the clear embossing on the scarf, hat, and snowflake that I did to give it a little extra pop. It gives the card some texture and is a little shinier in person.

I hope you enjoyed this card!! I had a blast making it. Love SOUS and can't wait to post for the next challenge. Have a great day everyone! Thanks for looking, Always- Jameka
